Royal Treatment in the Mountains

Schloss Vaduz, Vaduz, Liechtenstein

Where Hans-Adam II, Prince of Liechtenstein, can be seen playing with his grandchildren

I loved Liechtenstein. I don't know what it was exactly but the tiny principality had a little something that just felt good about it.  And the locals were unbelievably nice too. We were treated like royalty and gazed at every step we took. I believe we might have stood out a little bit. After all, when the whole country bears less than 35,000 people, how many can there be in the capital? Of course visitors will stand out! We nonetheless drove around a bit, stopped for some shopping and lunch and snapped a few pictures. Our favorite part? Driving all the way to the top of the castle where the Prince lives and discover that it's all wide open, without restrictions, and that the kids are out playing soccer with their grandfather Prince. What a sight. I surrendered to the place and thought to myself that I could very well go back there and enjoy that rocky forests a bit more later. In the meanwhile, I think we shall never forget the majestic entrance to Fürstentum Liechtenstein through Switzerland: a straight drive toward the castle nestled in the mountains! Another breathtaking sight.
